Selective Insecticide With Contact & Stomach Action
Spinosad is a natural substance made by a soil bacterium that can be toxic to insects. It is a mixture of two chemicals called spinosyn A and spinosyn D. It penetrates the leaf blade and has translaminar activity. Spinosad is a professional biological insecticide designed for the protection of grapevine crops, fruits, and vegetables. It acts on contact and ingestion and provides an ovicidal effect against some species of insects. It is used to control a wide variety of pests. These include thrips, leafminers, spider mites, mosquitoes, ants, fruit flies and others. It can be used to control corn earworm and other caterpillars, sawflies, beetle and many other insects on ornamentals, turf, vegetables, fruit and nut trees.
Spinosad has a unique mode of action that is different from all other known insect control products. Spinosad causes excitation of the insect nervous system, leading to involuntary muscle contractions, prostration with tremors, and finally paralysis.
